Visions of Change
We aim is to show how fragile our lives are where one small decision can completely alter our reality. A small decision that may seem unconventional and insignificant to our lives may be more impactful than we believe in that present moment. For example, every action determines what happens within our lives. However when permitting to something that seems unordinary or unfamiliar to us, leads to a possible dramatic turn of events. Although the past has already happened and exists in memory, it is our present selves that have complete control over how our future unravels, even though it already exists. The only ‘vision’ of the future that exists is in our consciousness, and it is our physical reality that materialises this ‘vision’. In life we are presented with many decisions in which it is the way we handle it that changes the course of our future.
My Role: Social Media DesignerVisual Designer (Presentation), Market Researcher
Visions of change is a transmedia project created for a Year 1 module for the Media and Creative Industries. We were tasked in creating a transmedia project with the theme of “Visions of the Future”.
I took the initiative to start the instagram account and created the logo. By incorporating the word vision, I decided to create glasses to represent the word, before adding in the word change inside. This simple logo allows it to be used, without it feeling to chunky and its a very easy to understand play on words. After the creation of the account, I took the chance to create the “Introduction” posts for the account. This provided information as to what “Visions of Change” was about, meaning of Transmedia and some of our inspirations and the research behind our project.
When creating the introduction posts, I was very aware that most of the photographs taken had black backgrounds, therefore I decided to use black as the general colour, with hints of red around the images. This helped tie in the rest of our posts, making the account seem more cohesive and pleasing to the eye.
Before posting on the account, I also created a post layout to ensure that all the post and images when placed together gives a cohesive and inviting page.
When using other photos not taken from the photoshoot. I ensured that I edited the photos to show a red hue with darker exposure around the edges. This was because the overarching colour theme of our project was red and black.
